Our past markets have showcased the incredible talents of vendors from the Queer Food Growing Collective, with all goods handmade and locally sourced. Offerings have included candles, soaps, honey, herbs, plants, clothing, and accessories, each crafted with care by members of the collective. These markets celebrate queer creativity, land connection, and mutual support, creating space for community, expression, and sustainability. Rooted in Black politics and land sovereignty, the act of growing, creating, and selling within these markets is a powerful form of resistance against the colonial narrative and a reclamation of identity, joy, and collective power.

Transcending History Walking Tours are guided by Lucy and Melissa, two integral members of the Queer Food Growing Collective, and they are designed to promote a deeper consciousness about freedom, democracy, and the layered histories of our spaces in Cape Town. These tours offer not only a powerful educational experience but also a way to support grassroots movements. Participants can choose to have their tour proceeds go directly to the QFGC, and any alternative donation arrangements will be announced in advance. To learn more or book a tour, visit Transcending History Walking Tours on Facebook or contact +27 084 883 2514.

On Sunday, 1 June 2025, the Queer Food Growing Collective partnered with the Triangle Project to host a powerful healing workshop led by Michelle Festus of Circles of Magic. With over 20 years of experience in gender justice, land rights, and holistic practice, Michelle guided participants through grounding rituals and collective care, creating space to breathe and flow through uncertain times together. This event embodied the QFGC’s commitment to healing, resistance, and community-rooted wellness. Proceeds from the workshop supported the Queer Food Growing Collective, and details about future events can be found on this page or through our social media channels!
